Coffee Shopunblocked Evrything

As I was doing some research for this newest installment of the website series, I found myself wondering exactly how to go about finding something interesting. A lot of cool things to do with technology are called projects, I realized: something like “The Bagel Project” (which happens to be a bagel shop in Salt Lake City: https://bagelproject.com. Who knew?). But how could I find something this specific? What I wanted Google to do was to fill in a blank for me: The ____ Project. Luckily, I found a handy article that gave me some tips on how to do that. This article–http://motto.time.com/4116259/google-search/–told me that I could put the whole term in quotes, then put an asterisk where the blank would be. I ended up searching this: “The * Project”. The article also told me how to play Atari Breakout in Google images, but this sadly only works on a desktop or a laptop.

Lack of Atari games aside, the result of my search was this: The Noun Project (https://thenounproject.com). This website is a great resource for school projects, as it contains all sorts of icons for almost everything you can imagine. Ketchup? They’ve got an icon. Zombie apocalypse? Plenty. Even searching for The Noun Project gives you a result. The Noun Project gallery is built into the Adobe Spark app, which students can download on Self Service, so you can incorporate them into your videos with ease.

Coffee Shop Unblocked is online cool math game in which your target is to manage your new coffee shop. Plain your budge, make new recipes and sell out.

But that’s not the only project we’ll be talking about today–as this article is all about cool projects that have been displayed on the internet. Projects such as Move Now, Think Later, an interesting simulation of a game of checkers. Both sides make a move in the space of one second, making for some really fast games to play out. It can be interesting to see the game brought up to such a high speed and see the hypnotizing patterns. To see it for yourself, click here: http://www.movenowthinklater.com.

Another cool artistic project is called Unseen Monsters. These black and white photographs with colorful monsters drawn on top, along with a short description of each, look really nice and can spark the imagination. They even work well as a lock screen or home screen. The monsters found at http://unseenmonsters.com come from a variety of locations, from the Australian city of Melbourne, to the volcanic Mount Shasta in California, to the bustling streets of New York and San Francisco.

On a slightly different note, there is https://jenniferdewalt.com, a website full of other websites that were created as the owner of the website learned how to code. While some of the websites in the list are artistic (What could Day 174’s “Talking Dude” be described as but artistic?), it deviates from the previous two a little bit because art isn’t the focus here–it’s interactivity. Even if it’s as simple as telling some guy what he should say.

One project that must have taken an incredible amount of time and dedication to make comes in the form of a game–more specifically, a choose your own adventure game. In The Wal-Mart Game, found at http://chooseyourstory.com/game/player/?253, you go to Wal-Mart. As one does. But this trip is special, because while you are asleep in one of those bench things in the garden center, terrorists take over the store and you are forced to use items you find on the shelves to escape. You can find items all over to add to your inventory, and when the time is right, you can use them to get what you need. I won’t spoil it all for you, but it can be really tricky to beat at times.

This isn’t as much of a project or even a creative masterpiece, although it is rather eye-catching. If you have time to kill and really don’t feel like being productive at all, try http://chihuahuaspin.com, where you can watch a chihuahua stare blankly ahead is it is slowly unraveled from an infinite roll of bubble wrap.

Finally, I’ll leave you with a website that must have taken a genius to create, and its usefulness is unparallelled by any other: http://www.ismycomputeron.com.
