How To Open Srt File On Pc

How

Windows Media Player is included with PCs running Windows, but it isn’t as easy to open an SRT file with the program because there isn’t a dedicated option to add it to a video. However, if you ensure the subtitle file is in the same folder as the video with the same file name (not counting the.srt extension), the program might pick it up. The srt file extension is associated with the C60 and other compatible mobile phones developed by a German company Siemens. The.srt file stores sound data. The mobile phones division of Siemens was sold to BenQ in 2005. This srt file type entry was marked as obsolete and no longer supported file format. Just double-click/tap on the SRT file and it should be automatically opened by the default text editor on your device. If it didn’t open, you could right-click/long-press on the SRT file to select Open with to manually choose one SRT file opener. Note: Please make sure you have a text editor installed on your device beforehand. Associate MPlayer with the SRT file extension. If the user already has one of the applications installed, the next step will be to associate it with the file extension SRT.This can be done in two ways - one is to manually edit the Windows Registry and HKEYCLASSESROOT keys. The second way is simpler and definitely recommended for less advanced users. How to open SRT files. SRT files are plain text files and can be opened with any text editor to view its contents like Notepad. But the main purpose for someone to open SRT files is so that the subtitles would play along with the video. SRT files are supported by most of the video players.

How Do I Open Srt Files On Windows 10

1. I have a video file as AVI file .avi and the sub titles for the video as SRT file(.srt). However by mistake I have done the following change to the SRT file.
(a) I right clicked on the SRT file and opened 'properties' dialogue box.
(b) In 'properties' dialogue box, in 'General' tab, against 'Opens with:' I clicked 'Change...'
(c) In the 'Choose the program you want to open with' dialogue box I chose 'VLC media player' and pressed OK. I failed to uncheck the box 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.
2. By mistake I have chosen VLC media player as the program to open all SRT files. This has resulted in the following:-
(a) While the video file name has remained the same, the SRT file name has changed.
For ex. Video file name - MOVIE123.avi
SRT file name (before change) - MOVIE123.srt
SRT file name (after change) - MOVIE123
(b) Before I changed it to open with VLC media player, the icon against the SRT file was a blank square (I think) and now after change it shows the VLC media player icon.
(c) This change has occurred in all the SRT files in my hard disk.
(d) Any SRT file I download now automatically gets the VLC media player icon and no .srt file extension.
3. While playing the video files in my desk top computer using VLC Media Player, Media Player Classic and M-Player, there is no problem and the sub titles are correctly displayed. However while playing the video files in the TV, the sub titles are not displayed. I tried adding .srt to the changed SRT file but still it is not working in my TV.
4. Please help me to reverse my action at para 1(c) above.
